Did a few updates to the login pages, updated the screenshots, changed descriptions and generally moved a few things around. Not an exciting update, but an essential I think. Oh and I added a way to subscribe to the updates via email, each time I send an update to the blog if you sign up with your email you will see it via email too. As I know many miss the announcements on the blog.

Brave limit reset spell

Added the Brave limit reset spell to the ZSpoints store. It uses 50% of your intelligence each time it is cast, and costs 5 ZSpoints. Use all ten of your limit of braves, then cast this spell and it goes back down to zero.

Tiny update

You probably noticed by now that a little update was made to add completed mission locations to the achievements, you should all have received your 1 ZSpoint per finished mission location. I’m still slowly rolling out these achievements as I update things, so expect more in the future.

Oh and in about a month I may be moving us to a new server. This will be a cheaper one but about the same performance. The new server will allow me to do a few more cool things to help pay for things. I hope to be able eventually to not have to worry about paying for the server, with your help with donations and pledgies.

The 1st of September was the 2 year anniversary of me seeing if it was possible to do this full time, it hasn’t worked out as expected, due to the economy and frankly whatever I did to annoy some of you, but I’ve learnt my lesson and hope to create alternative ways of doing this in the future. The game will remain around for as long as I can keep it around.

Travel update

Did a little update to the travel page. You can now see the missions you have left in the locations, also it shows in blue you current location. It also now tells you the price you pay for each journey.

A day in the outside office

Spent today outside in the garden, digging a little pulling up weeds, you know the stuff. I usually take my notebooks and my laptop out too, and sit down to read my feeds, have a go on the game, and see whats happening in the world.

Today I was trying to create as much content for KoR as possible. I’ve now written down missions up until level 700 and I created a list of 55 new NPC’s for the highter levels too. Its been a productive day.

As you know I already added 10 new missions, to Lyonesse and Asgard. I have new shops, new items, new weapons and new missions for the next levels ready to type up.

My method for missions is this. I decide on a mission name, I decide what you find, what you need to complete it and then I write a hospital reason and jail reason for failure. Then I type up the description, the hosp text, the jail text and the success text. And move onto the next one. Only planning I do is the item finds and needed, and the name. The rest I do as I type them up. Feels better to do it that way. Idea pops into my head as I go along.

You may find a few clues in that picture, gives you an indication of how I plan out the stuff I do.

First bunch of updates

I plan to do a lot of stuff this weekend, so if you see a few things change thats what it is.

I’ve made a few changes and additions, everyone menu is now jobs. The friends and enemies list have moved to profiles menu. The jobs will get an update soon, its about time don’t you think.

I also added your online friends and enemies above the shoutbox. I will be adding an option in the profiles section to enable or disable the lists if you want. I wanted to be able to see a friend online so I could chat, before they leave ;) Like anyone who has played the game for a while knows, I play and so many options are things that I want to add for myself, if you like them then great, but I feel that playing the game and seeing the issues helps me update it for the better.

little stuff

Over night I made a few changes in my on going removal of the old rubies from the game, referals, mines, missions, voting and games all pay out with mine item versions now, thing that is everything, will have to check.

I worked on a few ideas for the last 5 locations up to level 1,000 now have to dream up vaults, missions, items and shops. I plan to release them all at once, so that the game is complete in that sense. Have a few more ideas to finish off then can get on with other things while you lot attempt to finish the game ;)

I’ve also been looking around for a cheaper hosting option, interested in VPS servers at the moment, not sure how good they would be for us, but have been offered a demo or two to try out, so will take a look and see. I want to reduce costs so that we can stick around a bit longer, while I work on future projects.

Layout of the past

Thats an old layout for Kingdom of Riches, maybe a year ago or more. Seems like forever ago now, again got a google alert telling me KoR was mentioned on that site, and this was the link that appeared, seems you can vote for us. Its another place to help get us around, so please go and give us a vote.

New Rubies for old

Added the options today to swap those old rubies in the game to the shinier new mine item rubies. I’m still working my way through scripts to remove the old rubies and replace them with the new, hope to have everything swapped to the new one this weekend. I can then begin to add new stuff that the ruby item can do differently.

Google alerts

I have a google alerts account, its an email notification system that sends you and email everytime a key phrase appears on the web. I have one for Kingdom of Riches, noticed that I get a lot of religious sites to do with this phrase ;)

Kind of Ironic really.

So remember if anyone mentions KoR anywhere on the web I get an email notification, so be nice ;)
